Irene Lopera ManzanoIrene is graduated by the Pompeu Fabra University from Barcelona in Translation and Interpreting and holds a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation by the University of Roehampton from London. She works with four languages, which are Spanish and Catalan as mother tongues and English and German as languages B and C. In the English language she has C1 level by the Pompeu Fabra University and in German she is certified with the B2 level by the Zentrum für Sprache und Plurilingualismus und Fachdidaktik from the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz.
During her Bachelor Degree she studied in Cologne, Germany and in Graz, Austria thanks to the Erasmus program, which allowed her to improve her language skills and to travel and get to know other cultures, one of her passions.
In her specialization field are included Subtitling, Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Dubbing and Voice - Over, Audiodescription and Respeaking. Moreover, she has recently taken part in a CAT tools course, where she learnt programs such as SDL Trados Studios.
As a professional goal, she would like to work as an in-house subtitler in an international company, if possible out of her home country, due to her interested in moving around the world.
Besides travelling and getting to know the world Irene’s hobbies also include activities such as reading, swimming or music.
During this summer internship at Modlingua she is interested in exploring Content Writing and Citizen Journalism, Project Management and Quality Standards, Business Development and Online Marketing.
