Anything we do has a life cycle: a beginning, a middle, and an end. Some life cycles are more complex than others because some tasks are more complex than others, too, and therefore require careful planning and attention. So, to reduce this complexity we need to manage the work/or any project properly. This management itself is called the project management process. It a process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and to meet success at a particular time. The main aim of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the given period of time. The objective of project management is to finish the overall project in accordance with the client’s objective. Once the client’s objectives are clearly established they should influence all decisions made by other people involved in the project – like project managers, designers, contractors, and sub-contractors.

In general, there are four phases of the project management process.

  1. Initiating: - This is where all the process begins. Here you satisfy the need of the project and evaluate what the project’s goals are, the timeline of completion and what are the resources required to fulfill the project.
  2. Planning: - After the approval, the next step is to assemble a project team and to start planning how to manage the project so it can achieve its goals within budget and on time.
  3. Execution: - Here, we follow the plan you created assigns the tasks to team members, and manage and monitor their progress with project management tools.
  4. Closing: - The last phase of the project is closing in and out. In this, we make sure the project has been completed as planned.

Project managers plan their work more efficiently through work breakdown structure (WBS). The WBS helps make this planning consistent and provides for effective project execution. The main purpose of a WBS is to reduce complicated activities to a collection of tasks. This is important for the project manager because he can oversee the tasks more effectively than the complex activities. The important aspects of the work breakdown structure are:-

  • Assigning costs to each task
  • Track progress in a schedule
  • Define the scope of the project
  • Fulfill intended purposes
  • Assign responsibility for the tasks

Throughout this process, a project manager and a translator play a significant role. As we all know that without the correct people in the right place and at the right time a project cannot be successful. Project managers have a lot of responsibility from planning to execution and from controlling to closing any project. Similarly, translators are responsible for taking the incomprehensible and making it understandable to a diverse of audiences. They take the complex and make it simple by translating it across language and cultural barriers. On the other hand, a project manager is a very accountable person for finishing the targeted project on the behalf of the client. They are very experienced in their field and have a good knowledge of in and out of the project while supervising the workers along with the project. He has a better grasp of the context of the meaning in the source language and accurately presents it to the target language. Without translator it’s almost impossible to carry out the business from one country to another.
